Providing powerful clean kinetic energy to generate electricity for Jiaba Hydropower Station has exceeded 300 billion kWh.

CCTV News:Today (September 27th), the Three Gorges Group announced that it is the fifth largest hydropower station in China — — The cumulative power generation of Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station in Jinsha River has exceeded 300 billion kWh. Since it was put into operation for 10 years, Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station has provided powerful clean kinetic energy for the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station is located in the lower reaches of Jinsha River at the junction of Yibin City, Sichuan Province and Shuifu City, Yunnan Province. Eight 800,000-kilowatt hydro-generator sets have been installed, with a total installed capacity of 6.4 million kilowatts and an average annual power generation of 30.747 billion kWh.

Duan Kailin, Director of Xiangjiaba Power Plant of Yangtze Power of Three Gorges Group;300 billion kWh is equivalent to reducing the consumption of standard coal by 90.45 million tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 248.4 million tons.

Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station is the key project of China’s western development and the backbone power supply point of "West-to-East Power Transmission". It mainly supplies power to East China through 800 kV HVDC transmission lines, while partially retaining Sichuan power grid to support local economic development. In addition to power generation benefits, Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station also has comprehensive benefits such as flood control, shipping, irrigation, environment and society.
