CCTV News:Recently, the National Health and Wellness Commission announced the establishment of a national collaborative network for diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases, in order to strengthen the management of rare diseases in China and improve the level of diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases.
The National Health and Health Commission will select 324 hospitals with strong ability to diagnose and treat rare diseases and more cases to form a collaborative network for diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases nationwide, including one national leading hospital: Peking Union Medical College Hospital of China Academy of Medical Sciences, 32 provincial leading hospitals and 291 member hospitals.
The national and provincial leading hospitals are mainly responsible for taking the lead in formulating and improving the working mechanism of the collaborative network, formulating relevant working systems or standards, receiving patients with difficult, critical and rare diseases referred by member hospitals, and coordinating the quality medical resources of the collaborative network hospitals within their jurisdiction for diagnosis and treatment; Member hospitals are mainly responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of patients with common rare diseases. Before the end of March this year, the provinces will introduce the implementation plan for the establishment of the cooperative network.
After the establishment of the National Collaborative Network for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Rare Diseases, the patients with rare diseases in China will be relatively concentrated in diagnosis and treatment and two-way referral, giving full play to the radiation-driven role of high-quality medical resources, improving the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment ability of rare diseases in China, and gradually achieving the goals of early detection, early diagnosis, treatment and management of rare diseases.
