Why oppose universal free medical care?

I am opposed to the implementation of free medical care for all, mainly for the following reasons:

1. Free medical care for all may cause a huge burden to the national finance.

Medical expenses are huge, including hospital equipment, staff salaries, drug costs and so on. If the whole people can enjoy free medical care, the government needs to invest a lot of financial and material resources, which is a serious challenge to the budget. The increasing pressure of national finance may lead to insufficient investment in other fields and affect the overall development of the country.

2. Free medical care for all may lead to uneven distribution of medical resources.

If medical services are completely free, it may lead to excessive use and waste of medical resources. People may abuse medical resources and even medical services. At the same time, due to the limited medical resources, the queue time of medical services may be too long, which may affect the patient’s medical experience and treatment effect. Free medical care for all may make medical resources unreasonable, resulting in resource waste and unfairness.

3. Free medical care for all may weaken the enthusiasm and sense of responsibility of medical institutions and medical staff.

If medical services are completely free, medical institutions and medical staff may lose economic incentives and competitive pressures, resulting in a decline in their investment and quality of work. Doctors may lack enthusiasm and sense of responsibility, and their attitude towards patients and service quality may decline. Free medical care for all may weaken the healthy development of the medical system and is not conducive to improving the quality and efficiency of medical services.

My opposition to the implementation of free medical care for all is mainly due to the consideration of financial burden, uneven distribution of medical resources and the development of medical system. Although free medical care is of certain significance for improving people’s health and ensuring social equity, it needs to be comprehensively considered and balanced in terms of financial resources, resources and the development of medical system.
